Yes. You can disable Planet’s Smart Cart at any time without losing any of your settings or customizations. This allows you to temporarily pause its functionality, for example, if you're testing your store, preparing changes, or simply prefer to temporarily return to Shopify’s native cart.
How to Disable the Smart Cart
Open the Planet app from your Shopify admin panel.
In the left-hand menu, click on Smart Cart.
At the top of the screen, locate the status toggle (next to the “Status” label).
Switch the dropdown from Enabled to Disabled.
Once disabled, your Planet Smart Cart including all custom modules (ads, upsells, progress bar, coupons, and notes), will no longer be visible, but all your configurations will be saved.
What Happens When the Smart Cart Is Disabled?
When you disable the Smart Cart:
Your store will automatically revert to Shopify’s native cart, with its standard appearance and functionality.
Customers will still be able to add products and complete purchases without issue.
The following Planet Smart Cart features will no longer be displayed:
Recommended products (upsells)
Custom cart messages (ads)
Reward progress bar
Visible discount codes in the cart
Additional notes field
This is a great option if you're making major updates or want to compare performance with the default cart.
How to Re-Enable the Smart Cart
You can reactivate the Smart Cart at any time:
Return to the Smart Cart section in the Planet app.
Switch the status back to Enabled using the same dropdown.
All modules will reappear exactly as you left them, and your customers will once again see the customized cart experience.
