The progress bar is one of the standout features of Planet’s Smart Cart. This visual element shows customers how close they are to earning rewards like discounts, free shipping, or gifts.
Here’s how to activate, configure, and customize it to suit your store’s needs.
1. Activation
To display the progress bar in the cart, you first need to enable the feature from the cart settings panel. Once activated, the bar will inform customers of available rewards based on the amount or quantity of their purchase.
The bar updates automatically as customers add products to their cart, showing their progress toward each reward. You can also customize the messages shown throughout the journey.
2. Configuration
Within the settings, you’ll find several options to customize the progress bar and tailor it to your customers' shopping experience:
Reward Unlocked Text
This is the message that appears once the customer has unlocked all available rewards. Some example texts:
“You’ve unlocked all the rewards!”
“All your rewards are now active!”
“Awesome! You’ve unlocked all the rewards!”
This message celebrates the completion of the process and adds a satisfying touch to the experience.
Condition Type
The progress bar can work with two types of conditions:
By quantity purchased: The customer must add a specific number of products to the cart to unlock a reward.
By amount spent: The customer must reach a specific cart total to unlock a reward.
Choose the condition that best fits your promotional strategy. For example, if you want to reward volume purchases, select “quantity purchased.” If your goal is to increase order value, choose “amount spent.”
3. Rewards
You can add up to 4 different rewards in the progress bar. Each one can have its own condition and reward type. Here’s how to configure them:
Reward Types
The available reward types include:
Discount: A percentage or fixed amount off when the condition is met.
Free Shipping: Free shipping is offered when a spending threshold is reached.
Gift: A free product is added to the cart once the condition is fulfilled.
Individual Reward Configuration
For each reward, you’ll need to customize the text displayed on the progress bar.
⚠ Note: The progress bar is purely informational. You must set up each promotion separately in your store backend.
Reward Type:
Discount: Customize the text to highlight the available discount.
Free Shipping: Customize the text to promote the shipping offer.
Gift: Customize the text to show that a free gift will be unlocked.
Spend or Quantity Threshold for the Reward:
Here, you define the amount or number of items needed to unlock the reward. Example:
“Spend €50 to get 10% off.”
“Buy 3 products to get a free gift.”
“Spend €30 to unlock free shipping.”
Reward Text:
This describes the reward once it’s unlocked. Examples:
For a discount: “Enjoy 10% off your order!”
For a gift: “You get a free product!”
For free shipping: “Free shipping on your order!”
Progress Text (How Much Left):
This informs customers how close they are to the reward. Examples:
For a discount: “Spend €50 more to unlock 10% off.”
For a gift: “Add 2 more products to get a free gift.”
For free shipping: “Spend €15 more to unlock free shipping!”
4. Complete Example Configuration
Let’s say you want to set up 3 rewards in the progress bar:
Reward 1:
Type: Free Shipping
Spend required: €100
Reward text: “Free Shipping”
Progress text: “Spend €30 more to unlock free shipping.”
Reward 2:
Type: Discount
Spend required: €200
Reward text: “10% Off”
Progress text: “Only €50 more to get 10% off!”
Reward 3:
Type: Gift
Quantity required: 3 products
Reward text: “Surprise Gift!”
Progress text: “Add 1 more product to receive a free gift.”
