The gift module in the cart allows you to visually show your customers which gifts they can obtain, which ones they have already unlocked, and what they’re missing to get them. It’s ideal for free gift campaigns where customers can choose from different gift variants or products.
In this guide, we explain how to activate, configure, and customize the gift selector in the cart.
1. Create a free gift promotion
Before configuring the cart, make sure you have created a Free Gift promotion in Planet, as only gifts from active promotions will be displayed.

During the promotion creation:
Enable the checkbox “Show this gift in the Planet Smart Cart gift selector”.
This option will automatically make that gift appear in the gift module if the set conditions are met.
You can also allow the customer to choose the same product multiple times by enabling the second checkbox.
2. Activation
To start using gifts, first activate the option from the cart configuration panel. Once activated, the gift selector will be displayed in the cart.
3. Configuration
In this section, you can define the following texts that will be shown to your customers:
Text for obtained gifts: Message that appears when the customer has already unlocked the gifts.
Text for selectable gifts: Message shown when the customer can select their gifts.
Text for unachieved gifts: Message that appears if they have not yet reached the threshold to obtain them. You can use the variable
{{amount}}
to display the remaining amount.
4. Style
Customize the design of the gift module to match the look and feel of your store.
You can modify:
Border for obtained gifts
Border for gifts yet to be obtained
Background of the “add” button
Icon of the “add” button
Background of the “edit” button
Icon of the “edit” button
Background of the “received” icon
“Received” icon
